THE APPROACH

What is birth processing?

Birth processing is a space where your birth story is heard all the way through - maybe for the first time. Not to "fix" you, but to give what you went through its place, its meaning, and a way forward.

Birth is one of the most powerful events in a woman's life. And sometimes it leaves open questions behind: moments that keep returning, decisions you did not understand, a feeling that something was taken from you, or simply the need to tell the story to someone who truly listens.

In a birth processing session we walk through your story together, at your pace. No judgment, no hierarchy of suffering, no "at least the baby is healthy". In my experience, even one or two sessions can be deep and releasing - something opens, settles, and a new kind of quiet becomes possible.

THE B.O.T APPROACH

B.O.T - Birth Oriented Thinking

I work with B.O.T - an Israeli, trauma-informed approach to emotional support in the birth field, developed from over a decade of research into the emotional needs of women around birth. It draws on practices from Somatic Experiencing, Focusing, mindfulness and trauma research.

  • Radical listening in a judgment-free spaceEvery birth story is truly heard, exactly as it is.
  • Honoring the wisdom of the bodyYour body knows. We give it a place in the conversation.
  • Respecting your pace and processThere is no correct timeline. There is your pace.
  • Supporting integration, not forcing changeThe goal is to digest and integrate, not to "fix" you.
  • Safety through presence and acceptanceThere is a healing effect in being heard by believing, curious ears.

WHO IT IS FOR

When do women reach out?

After a difficult or traumatic birthA birth that was "fine" but left open questionsBefore the next birthAfter pregnancy loss or stillbirthPregnancy after lossHigh stress in pregnancy or postpartumBefore a C-section or medical procedureEmotional challenges around feedingFertility treatmentsThe growth after birth - who am I now?

It matters to me to say: B.O.T support is not psychotherapy and is not meant for deep pattern change. It is focused support that helps you identify what can support you in the current challenge - in birth, in the bond with your baby, or in the bond with yourself. When something else is needed, I say so honestly and help you find the right address.
